Junior Dissection Program

1. Preparation of the Palva flap
2. Identification of TS and TM sutures
3. Localization of the mastoid antrum
4. Identification of the lateral semicircular canal
5. Identification of the short process of the incus
6. Posterior tympanotomy
7. Canal incision and tympanomeatal flap elevation
8. Fenestration of the stapes footplate and prosthesis placement
9. Removal and transposition of the incus
10. Malleus relocation

Senior Dissection Program

1. Canal wall down procedure
2. Facial nerve decompression and exposure of the geniculate ganglion
3. View from the middle fossa
4. Exposure of dural and sinus plates
5. Identification of posterior and superior semicircular canals
6. Localization and manipulation of the endolymphatic sac
7. Posterior fossa decompression
8. Identification of the jugular bulb
9. Retrolabyrinthine approach
10. Transotic approach
11. Transcochlear approach
12. Labyrinthectomy

Participant Notes

Two participants, one junior and one senior, will work on each ear.
A dissection guide covering the basic and advanced procedures will be sent to participants in advance. Participants are advised to carefully review this guide to acquire the theoretical knowledge necessary before the dissection.
